Aberdeen Lake - 11/16/2009

ABERDEEN LAKE (TENN-TOM): The crappie reports are fair to good. Crappie are coming out of 3 to 5 ft of water, but near deep water (up to 10 ft). Stumps and laydowns are holding more fish than vegetation. The bass reports are fair with the bigger sloughs and backwater areas where shad are showing up being the best areas. Best baits have been shallow crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and t-rigged plastics fished close to cover. The riprap at the upper end of the lake has also been popular. T-rigged plastics and shallow to medium crankbaits have been the best baits. The catfish bite is fair. Most anglers are hitting the old river runs and also the Tombigbee River itself. Shad and cutbait are best baits right now.
