FISHING MISSISSIPPI
FALL SEASON
The Lakeview Boat Dock (662)781-1550 reports bream are being caught off the pier
on crickets or redworms. Some crappie have been caught off the pier on minnows, but best luck
has been trolling jigs and/or minnows 8 to 12 ft deep in the main lake out from the trees. Best
results on catfish have been fishing nightcrawlers on the bottom. Few reports on bass.
MDWFP trapnetting 2 weeks ago found mostly black crappie about 8 inches long that
were spawned in 2008. Also saw a bunch of nice redear sunfish (shellcrackers) up to about a
pound.
Crappie limits on Horn Lake changed February 16. There is a 10 inch minimum size,
15 fish creel limit.
