Youth hunters have always been able to hunt free of charge and still are with a permitted adult hunter. Now in addition to youths hunting free, the adult hunter can receive a $20.00 discount on their dove field permit by having the accompanying youth purchase a Youth Exempt License. The Youth Exempt License is not required by law, but it is a great way to initiate a young hunter into the hunting community, support the MDWFP, and to receive a $20.00 discount on your dove field permit. To qualify for the discount, the Youth Exempt License must be purchased 24 hours in advance of the sale of the dove field permit. If an adult purchases a discounted dove field permit, ayouth accompany the permitted adult on the Saturday or Monday of opening weekend, or the hunter will be required to reimburse the MDWFP for the discount. Dove Field Rules and Regulations

1. Hunting allowed only on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays after 12:00 PM.
2. Hunting will be allowed during the dates of September 5-27, 2009 and October 10- November 3, 2009.
3. Hunters must hunt from a designated stand on Sept 5 and Sept 7. A hunter's permit number will be their stand number for these two days. Hunters may be able to hunt from any designated stand location on a first come first serve basis on any hunt date after Sept 7.
4. No more than two shooters per stand, of which only one may be an adult. Two youths may be able to hunt from a stand but only under the direct supervision of a non-hunting licensed adult, 21 years old or older. One limit of doves is allowed per hunter per day.
5. Any hunter under the age of 16 years old is considered a youth and must be under the direct supervision of a licensed adult, 21 years old or older.
6. No shooting at low flying birds. All rules of gun safety must be followed.
7. No littering. All spent shotgun hulls must be picked up and removed.
8. Vehicle parking will be in designated areas only.
9. No alcoholic beverages will be allowed.
10. All State and Federal laws will be enforced and must be followed.
11. Any unsafe act or violation of any of these rules and regulations can lead to loss of hunting privileges on any MDWFP Private Lands Dove Field Program field.
