Melvin Tingle

Melvin has been a host on Mississippi Outdoors for over 30 years. The Neshoba County native and Newton resident started his career with the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks in 1966. Melvin is a true Mississippi icon. Every week Melvin has been greeting the viewers of Mississippi Outdoors. His warm smile and genuine personality have endeared him in the hearts of Mississippi sportsmen and women. Without even trying, Melvin has ingrained himself into the fabric of Mississippi’s outdoor landscape. Melvin once said he's been living every country boy’s dream and he's able to exceed his dreams and expectations. "Very few people get to live out their dreams and fantasies," Melvin said. "With God’s grace, the support of my wife Betty and the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks I've been able to do just that."
